I do ... now lets hit the pub!

Don’t ask me what I was Googling when I came across this, just look ... and be shocked into speechlessness ...

Behold ...

The Traveller Wedding.

This girl is sixteen, and her parents spent something ridiculous like 100,000 pounds on her dream wedding. Unfortunately, you could spend a million quid and it still wouldn't erase the act that you got married as a child and live in a caravan.

These gawjuss gals are bridesmaids at an Irish traveller wedding. Bleedin beautiful, aren't they? The fact that the little one looks about eight isn't inappropriate at all.

Mother of god ... this one is also sixteen, and apart from the fact that the star on her head makes her look like the world's worst fairy on top of a trashy Christmas tree,  the bridesmaids look like a lava lamp threw up on them and then they got doused in glow paint from a rave.

Oh ... wow ... surely this must be some form of child abuse??

Well ... as long as they're all happy, that's all that matters ... I guess ... ??

  4. Aisling - I know, my mother was like, "It's their culture, its what they're comfortable in," and I was like, "But HOW??? I mean, honest to god now, how on earth can they look in a mirror and actually think that looks in any way decent?!" (Lovely meeting you too, it was a great turnout! x)

Jess and Amy - Yeah I think I might have seen that programme actually... I definitely remember watching something about traveller weddings, and now that you both mention that link it sounds very familiar! I think I only saw a bit of it, so I'll have to check out the rest!

  8. I wnt al ov dis fur me weddin'.

Personally, think looking like an orange stuffed into a meringue is quite becoming. And the fact that the bride has just hit puberty, well, all the better really.

  9. Indeed, nothing quite like a teenage wedding to say "I love you".

  12. I have watched to program on the learning channel and was very interested to learn of the culture ... the two things that are most important in the wedding ... the size of the wedding dress and the size of the cake ** its not my "cup of tea for a dress that size but it is the culture of the gypsies and the travellers. I have learned alot and will continue to watch

  15. i would like to point out that not all travellers and gypsies are the same and that is coming from an irish traveller . You wouldnt say that if it was an indian or hindu wedding because there just as colouful but i think its because of the fact that there is so much prejudices against tavellers and gypsies that it is seen as tacky and not our tradition and culture as i have already pointed out not all travellers think these outfits are nice buh it is based upon a personal opinion i am a traveller and very proud of my heritage but would also like to point out that not all of us are illiterate and sholdnt be looked down on in the settle or any other community

  16. I think they look beautiful. The dresses are colorful and unique. The girls look gorgeous, as do the children.
